Hewgodooko (Hewgo for short) is a character in Crashlands. He is the main antagonist in the game; a megalomaniacal Veeru who causes Flux and JuiceBox to crash on Woanope after stealing parts from their delivery ship, and then later steals their three packages. Hewgodooko is very technologically advanced, and uses attacks such as Laser Sweep, Repair Bot, and Gravity Drive. The three alien races native to Woanope consider Hewgo to be a serious threat. In the Savanna, Hewgo killed Burl, which directs Grandmammy's wrath towards him. In the Bawg, he began rebuilding an ancient machine called the Krakalaka, and in the Tundra he stole the pieces of the Lens. Together with Krakalaka and the packages as batteries, his endgame was to bring a swarm of Chik'Rubs back to Woanope, conquering the planet and obtaining whatever is in the planet's core. == Savanna Fight == Flux and JuiceBox encountered Hewgodooko as a boss fight the first time in the High Ground, where JuiceBox analyzed as a perfect place to communicate with the Bureau of Shipping. At the end of the fight Hewgo proceeded to steal Flux and JuiceBox's packages as batteries for his Krakalaka. Hewgodooko's Savanna fight has 3 phases, indicated by conversation lines slid in during the fight. Hewgodooko has 3 attacks in Phase 1: * Hewgo spawns 3 floating drones after a short time, and the drones start shooting lasers down onto the player. Hewgo will proceed to execute his other attacks while the floating drones are shooting. The drones deal electric damage. * Hewgo spawns 3 drones around him that circle around, making a wheel of lasers (similar to The Orb of Forn). While this attack is executed, Hewgo also generates an electric field under him, to prevent the player from camping within his hitbox. The drones and the field deal electric damage. * Hewgo morphs his chinstrap into an antenna and he starts shooting a laser from said antenna which end slowly chases the player. The laser deals electric damage. Hewgodooko has one additional attack in Phase 2: * Hewgo morphs his chinstrap into a stomper and he slams himself onto the player multiple times, similar to a Wompit. The slams deal physical damage. Hewgodooko has one additional attack in Phase 3: * Hewgo spawns multiple bombs that start spinning after a short time. These bombs explode when the player enters their area of effect while spinning or they have spun for enough amount of time. These bombs deal physical damage. == Bawg Fight == The next time Flux and JuiceBox encountered Hewgodooko as a boss fight is when they're trying to prevent the Veeru from taking the ancient Krakalaka to power his plans. At the end of the fight, he escaped the fight to the Tundra, because its climate would help better with Krakalaka than Bawg, leaving one of Flux and JuiceBox's packages for taking. Hewgodooko's Bawg fight has 3 phases, indicated by conversation lines slid in during the fight. Additionally, his Bawg fight inherits all attacks from his Savanna fight, with a bit of additions. Hewgodooko has one additional attack in Phase 1: * Hewgo spawns a fire turret that will start expanding its area of effect. The player is burned if they stay too long in the turret's area. The turret is destroyed if the player damages it enough or after the area expands wide enough. The field deals fire damage. Hewgodooko doesn't have any additional attacks in Phases 2 and 3. == Space Fight == The final time Flux and JuiceBox encountered Hewgodooko as a boss fight is on the Space, as soon as they used the ElderStone. Hewgo is in the middle of summoning the Chik'Rub swarm with the help of Krakalaka and the Lens. At the end of the fight, Hewgodooko is truly killed and defeated, and JuiceBox reversed the polarity of the packages so that the portal would immediately send the packages, sending the Lens shards away for good as well. Hewgodooko's Space fight has 3 phases, indicated by conversation lines slid in during the fight. Additionally, his Space fight inherits all attacks from his Bawg fight, with a bit of additions. Hewgodooko has one additional attack in Phase 1: * Hewgo spawns a healing turret that will start healing Hewgodooko while it's active. Destroying the turret will stop the healing. Hewgodooko doesn't have any additional attacks in Phases 2 and 3. == Equipment Recommendations == === Savanna Fight === * Armor: A full gear of Dusk Crystal equipment is recommended for the fight. Giantbone Helm is a good option for headgear if the player can get it, since it's a level higher than Duskhelm. * Armor Traits: Since most of Hewgodooko's attacks involve electric and physical damage, having Shock Resist or Toughness on armors is recommended. * Bombs: ** Depth Charge is really hard to consistently procure, but it's the best physical bomb in the entire game, with a whopping 300% DPS as damage. ** Firecracker is a solid combination between physical and fire damage. ** Gravelbomb has pure 200% DPS as physical damage, thus it is a good idea to have a handful of it. ** Poison Bomb is a bit harder to craft, but the total damage is higher, for 250% of DPS as a combination of physical and poison damage. * General Devices, Gadgets and Trinkets: ** DBot is a generally really reliable device, as invincibility is nothing to scuff about. Requires Blockstock to be defeated. ** Mercurial Batshoes is a reliable trinket to get slightly better movement speed. ** Safety Gogs is a good Crit chance boost. ** Smash Racket is essentially non-consumable physical bomb that's easy to use and applies in a large area. Always good to have throughout the game. Requires completion of a quest line involving the quadropus Tack. * Healing Potion: Dusky Healing Potion is recommended for the fight. * Pets: Wompit and Zug are good pets for their physical and electric resistances respectively. Glidopus and Wat are also neat pets for their Turbo/sec and Move Speed boosts respectively. Additionally Tartil is generally a good pet for its wide coverage of attack. * Weapon: Dusk Crystal weaponry is recommended for the fight. The Butterfly is a good option as well, especially since the player has no access to Juiceforge in this stage of the progression. * Weapon Traits: ** Axes: Berserk/sec. Berserk is already an innate trait to all axes, and it's a good trait to boost their attacks per second. ** Hammers: Turbo/sec and Move Speed. Movement speed improvements would help the player landing hammer hits on the boss. ** Swords: Crit. Because Crit procs per attack, swords rapid hits would proc Crit more often than other weapon types. === Bawg Fight === * Armor: A full gear of Grenamel equipment is recommended for the fight. * Armor Traits: Like Savanna fight, Shock Resist or Toughness on armors is recommended. Move Speed trait is also recommended to escape from multitude of the boss' attacks easier. * Bombs: ** Vompole Clusterbomb has a good area of effect and has high physical damage. ** Bloodbomb has 250% of pure bleed damage, which could prove to be a solid option. * General Devices, Gadgets and Trinkets: ** Everything from the "Savanna fight" part still applies here. ** Bloodball is a good trinket to add a bit of survivability. ** Chrono Shifter is a really good gadget, as it enables the player to dodge an otherwise fatal attack in the last second or add more time to land consecutive hits onto the boss. Requires contact with the Duskwatcher after obtaining Ancient Watch Parts from Jollychomps. ** Life Enforcer is a great device to recover from lethal hits. Requires Jessica to be defeated. ** Retina Mounted Spice Injector is an incredible trinket due to its combo effect (-0.5s on all cooldowns wit each Crit). Pairing it with swords can generate massive amounts of cooldown reduction. ** Weakness Detector is a great trinket for Crit builds (and axes with its combo effect). * Healing Potion: Grenamel Healing Potion is recommended for the fight. * Pets: Wompit and Zug are still reliable for their resistances, but the pet arsenal is a bit expanded at this point. For attacks, Vomma and Satgat have massive area of effect on their attacks. Additionally, for extra stats, these pets can be taken: ** Glidopus for Turbo/sec ** Wat for Move Speed ** Snorble for Berserk/sec ** Satgat for Crit * Weapon: Grenamel weaponry is recommended for the fight. The Blood Root is a good option, as it's an edge over Grenamel weaponry. === Space Fight === * Armor: A full gear of Lonsdaleite equipment is recommended for the fight. * Armor Traits: Move Speed, Shock Resist, Toughness * Bombs: ** The Big One is a combination of 3 different bombs and 100% DPS as physical damage. If the resources suffice, this is a great option. ** The Slurricane has a very high pure poison damage, upwards to 300%. * General Devices, Gadgets and Trinkets: ** Everything from the "Bawg fight" part still applies here. ** Bombcatcher is a good trinket to make bombs more efficient. ** The Bubbler is a good trinket to have as occassional free damage. ** Clarm and Searchlight are viable trinkets if pets will be used more for combat. ** Motivator is a good trinket to have in a pinch. ** Spacetime Folder is a great gadget to dodge through crowded parts of the fight. Requires both E.M.G. and I.H.O. to be defeated. * Healing Potion: Pipey Healing Potion is recommended for the fight. * Pets: Everything from the "Bawg fight" part still applies here, with a few additions for stats: ** Lyff for Vampire/sec ** Slurb for Time Warp/sec * Weapon: Lonsdaleite weaponry is recommended for the fight. If the player can get it, The Megagong is also recommended. ==Trivia== * Hewgo is a Veeru, a member of the same alien race as Forn, Jobi, Morg, Tim, and Pete. * After encountering him shortly after bringing Ramerl some Water Balloons, Hewgo may randomly appear to the player at random intervals, destroying the resource that the player is after, and then vanish. * During development, Hewgo was originally named Q. According to a Reddit comment from the devs, the name was changed in order to avoid accusations that the character was plagiarized from the Star Trek character of the same name. ==References == <references /> == Other Bosses == AllBosses
