The Glidopus is the second (or third if you've seen the night cycle beforehand) creature you will encounter in the Savanna Biome. They are floating squid-like creatures which produce electricity.
Description[edit | edit source]
Glidopus look like floating octopuses, showing three tentacles. They have huge, beady eyes. When looking in the data section of the journal, it says glidopus have a hidden beak between their tentacles.
They can be located near water and around that area, especially near the Whistleroot, their favorite 'food'.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Like the Wompit they are mostly just a giant head with limbs but are designed like squids that fly, having a beak hidden by their arms. They come in 3 different colors: Blue; Green - more powerful variant (Verdant Glidopus) - and finally grey with red eyes and spots, which is known as Elder Glidopus.
Taming[edit | edit source]
All Glidopus, except Glidopus hatchlings, can drop eggs called Glidopus Egg.
Attack Pattern[edit | edit source]
It attacks by charging at the player after a small delay. It's 'special' move has a longer distance, and a damaging aura during the effect. The electric attack is also narrower, and faster to charge. Sometimes they release seven consecutive electric attacks. During these combos it's easier to simply dodge the series instead of trying to land a hit between charges.
Attack Strategy[edit | edit source]
Bring monsters to the tree as close as possible, move behind the tree, so that the tree is in the middle between you and the monster, now you can strike them without worrying about being hit for a while, when the red zones are seen long, rotate to where the monster originated.
